South Red Deer Regional Wastewater Commission
The South Red Deer Regional Wastewater Commission (SRDRWC) is composed of the Towns of Olds, Bowden, Innisfail, and Penhold, Mountain View County and Red Deer County.
The South Red Deer Regional Wastewater Commission Wastewater Transmission System serves these member communities and provides wastewater transmission services for existing and future developments within the region.
The SRDRWC Wastewater Transmission System has been designed for a 25 year horizon and will allow the communities along it to grow at a steady rate for years to come through a number of complex systems, including:
Four (4) major lift stations equipped with odour treatment systems:
- Approximately 90 kilometers of force main
- An Odour Management Facility
- State-of-the-art operation and monitoring systems
- A pipe alignment that minimizes the impact on the environment (wetlands, wild life, plants) and extensive environmental monitoring for the impacted areas.
The SRDRWC Wastewater Transmission system allows for wastewater from each of the 6 (six) member communities to be treated to higher standards at the City of Red Deer Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. This helps protect the aquatic environment and the quality of source water for much of Central Alberta.
The SRDRWC Wastewater Transmission system will help protect the environment while providing support for growth in the region for years to come.
